  • Hello’
I have a VPRO500S. I keep seeing a flashing lightning bolt indicator oh the lower left section of the screen and the rangefinder is shoring empty parentheses without any yardage reading?

    • Hi Ed,

Thank you for your comment. Have you tried changing the battery and cleaning the lens of your rangefinder? Please also clean the lens by putting a few drops of alcohol on a piece of cloth and wiping it until it dries. Even a small dust particle or a fingerprint can affect the readout, and the sensor may get confused and give you an incorrect reading.

If further troubleshooting is required to fix the issue you are experiencing with your device, please email us at us@tectectec.com so we can help you further with your concern. Please provide in your email a detailed description of the problem, your order number, and photos or videos of the issue if you have them. Thank you!

  • After finding a distance on the ULT-G watch (i.e. from point A to point B) how do you get back to the course screen. I had problems with this yesterday.

  • I am not getting the vibration when the distance has been determined. So it’s difficult to get my distances. If I don’t look quick enough the range finder focuses on something else.

    • Hi George,

  • When in normal mode, rangefinder(( vpro500) will show yardage number and next show – – – – – on the next attempt.. has new battery..

    Whats going on.

    • Hi Jerry,

There are several factors that can cause the rangefinder to give you 4 dashes. This can be a dirty lens, or maybe the battery needs to be replaced.

Please contact our team by sending an email to us@tectectec.com so we can help you further.

  • Hi-

I have a vpro dlx from a couple years ago that I bought on amazon. Honestly, I’ve always had issues with it like giving me multiple distances 3,5,7,10 yards apart. This would happen just shooting the flag when it couldn’t be a tree in the background. Readings were all over the place. The lens now sounds loose and the readings are not accurate. Do you have a servicing option? Thank You.

  • Water got into the rangefinder and it’s not working. I’d like to take it apart to see if I can fix it. Can someone please let me know how to do this?

    • Hello Derek,

Please do not open the body of the rangefinder. The unit should be treated like other electronics exposed to water. Placed in a bowl of dry rice and then left in a patch of direct sunlight for as long as possible. If you continue to have issues, please contact our customer assistance team so that we can help you with the next step. us@tectectec.com

  • I just purchased the VPRO500S and it is not finding the distance consistently with lighten bolt. What do you recommend?

    • Hello Barry,

If your rangefinder is not performing as shown in the video tutorial there may be an issue with the unit itself. Please note, however, that the lightning bolt indicates that the laser is firing normally.

Please contact us right away so that we can help you troubleshoot and make a warranty claim if necessary. us@tectectec.com

  • I purchased vpro500s. That model was not available when registering the unit. It might be useful to include it in the tutorial.

    • We’re sorry for the confusion, Richard. You should be able to choose the VPRO500S from the drop down menu when registering your warranty. All the modes that are shown in the video tutorial are the same for all TecTecTec rangefinders. For slope capable units, the slope mode is used in the same way as the pin mode shown here: https://youtu.be/oEvZ5IEquHo?t=1m9s

When switching to pinslope mode you will see the flag icon and an angle icon ∠ appear on the LCD screen. When taking a measurement in this mode you will see the actual distance and the “play like” distance which accounts for the difference in elevation.
